Snapshot audit (originally UNDOCUMENTED_MODULES_ANALYSIS.md, migrated from repo 2026-10-25) cataloging modules lacking notes-system documentation, with priority tiers and rough effort estimates. Predates several notes created since — check the "Now documented" pointers before treating an item as still open.
• gdata.py — GDBM wrapper (gdata_raw/gdata_simple/gdata classes, JSON serialization, GDataLockedError). Partial coverage in popit3/database; class-level API still undocumented.
• job_api.py — REST/CLI/WSGI/FastAPI job query interface. Now documented: popit3/job-api.
• newparser_jobserve.py — email parser + AI scorer (classify_job, OpenAI scoring). Key-migration history in popit3/jobserve-improvements and pipeline overview in popit3/architecture; scoring-prompt/threshold details still undocumented.
• popit3.py — POP3 sync engine (XOAUTH2, UIDL tracking, per-message timeout). Covered in popit3/architecture and the hang-forever incident in popit3/ops.
• process_emails.py — routing/orchestration. Now documented: popit3/process-emails.
• job_analysis_report.py — HTML report generator, cleanup policy. Now documented: popit3/report-generation.
• mylog.py — logging setup helper (console/file/syslog, duplicate-handler guard). Still undocumented; low priority, ~50 lines.
• applications_report.py — application-confirmation summary report. Still undocumented.
• wsgi_dev_server.py — trivial wsgiref dev server for job_api. Still undocumented; trivial.
• Email HTML parsers — js_alert_parser.py, js_email.py, js_application_parser.py, dl_email.py, scanmailheaders.py. Still undocumented at module level; scanmailheaders.py security checks (length limits, CVE-2023-27043, header-injection guards) are worth a note if touched again.
• reset_all_scores.py, reset_recent_analysis.py — score-reset utilities for CV updates/rescoring.
• MyDavidLloydSchedule.py — gym booking processor. Covered operationally in popit3/gym-schedule; module-level API still undocumented.
• mailspool.py — Maildir storage (local + WebDAV). Rewrite noted in popit3/todo (2026-06-21 WebDAV mail delivery refactor); module API still undocumented.
• query_jobs.py — job query CLI/compat shim.
• tmp_cleanup.py — schedules temp-file deletion via at, restricted to tmp_-prefixed paths.
• get_pop_refresh_token.py — OAuth2 device-flow token acquisition for initial setup. Superseded operationally by popit3/outlook-token-renewal for renewal, but still the tool for first-time setup.
• analyze_jobs_openai.py — alternative structured-output OpenAI analyzer, not the one currently wired into newparser_jobserve.
• Test suite (tests/) — conftest.py fixtures, WSGI/FastAPI/CLI/locking/format-mapping tests. See popit3/test-failures for known pre-existing failures.
Critical ~16h, Important ~12h, Nice-to-have ~8h — ~36h total for full module-level documentation coverage. Largely superseded in practice: documentation now accrues as notes when a module is touched, rather than as an upfront sweep.
